Abdul-Aziz Naibi Abubakar, a popular supporter of former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has opined that the political carrier of Peter Obi may come to an end should the Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, emerge as the PDP vice presidential candidate.
Recall that the Nigerian electoral body, INEC has given political parties a one-week ultimatum to name their vice-presidential candidates if they want to participate in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Reports from Bellnews indicate that Atiku Abubakar is more likely to pick the current Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike, as his running mate.
According to the newspaper, the National Working Committee of the PDP has already nominated Wike to be the vice-presidential candidate of the party.
Reacting to the news, Abdul-Aziz revealed that the selection of Wike as Atiku’s running mate was caused by Peter Obi because if he is still in the party, the VP slot would have been zoned to the southeast.
He added that the emergence of Wike as Atiku’s VP will mark the end of Peter Obi’s political carrier.
