One of the presidential aspirants in the just concluded presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, was given a heroic welcome, today, in Port Harcourt, after he was defeated by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
Wike revealed that some governors from the South were used to sabotage his victory, adding that he contested that election based on the agreement with all the Southern Governors and the leaders of the South that the presidency should go to the South.
’As far as I am concerned, there is nothing to worry about. I contested that election based on the agreement with all the Southern Governors and the leaders of the South that the presidency should go to the South.
We have done our own path, we never betrayed anybody because it’s not in our blood to betray.
But it is a shame to those people, some governors from the south who are the people they used to sabotage our victory.
But however, we have shown them that we are not like them,’ he said.
However, it will be recalled that Wike, who polled 237 votes, was defeated by Atiku who polled 371 out of the 767 accredited votes in the recently concluded special National convention of the PDP.
