Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has been formally announced as the People’s Democratic Party’s deputy governorship candidate (PDP).

According to Funke Akindele, she chose to take the assignment to assist women and enhance the welfare of children, especially girls, and young people.
“I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the disadvantaged youth, women, and children,” she said.
“My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility, but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
