The Federal University Lokoja has been closed indefinitely following the tragic death of five students in a trailer accident at Felele on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Since the incident, students have barricaded the university gates despite interventions from the state government and appeals from the university management for calm.
In response to the escalating unrest and based on advice from state security agencies, the Vice-Chancellor, after due consultation with management, has decided on behalf of the Senate to shut down both campuses indefinitely.
Students have been directed to vacate the university premises by noon on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The closure notice was signed by Dr. Rebecca Aimiohu Okojie, Registrar and Secretary to the Council.
