In celebration of the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party paid a visit to internally displaced persons in their camp in the Durumi area of Abuja.
In a post shared on X on Monday, March 31, Obi said he was at the IDP camp to support and share moments with Nigerians who have been displaced due to unfortunate circumstances like conflict.
The former governor also said that he visited the displaced persons in the spirit of Eid-love, compassion and solidarity with their plights.
“Their resilience, strength, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity demand our attention and continue to inspire us all.
“Let us reflect on the true essence of Eid—sacrifice, charity, and unity. This is a time to renew our commitment to building a nation where every Nigerian, regardless of background, has access to the basic necessities of life,” Obi wrote.
He also urged Nigerians in critical sectors of development to work towards creating an environment that depicts social justice and inclusivity to accommodate these population of Nigerians.
“We must continue to invest in critical areas of development—education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation—to create a more just, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria where no one is left behind.
“Eid Mubarak once again! May God Almighty bless this season and bring peace, happiness, and progress to our dear nation,” Obi noted.
