The Nigerian Air Force on Saturday, June 7, said it foiled a terrorist attack ahead of the Eid-al-Adha celebration.
In a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information some terrorists had planned an attack on the state.
Ejodame said that the planned attack was fouled through a series of precision airstrikes conducted by air troops.
He said the airstrike was conducted by the troops under Operation Hadin Kai on June 5 and 6, 2025.
He said the troops were able to neutralize the Boko Haram terrorists in their hideouts in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia in the Southern Tumbuns, Borno State.
Ejodame said, “Acting on credible intelligence, NAF aircraft targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations.”
He added that the assessment of the damage caused on the terrorists confirmed the death of several members of the Boko Haram group.
He stated, “Battle Damage Assessments confirmed the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of key logistics structures.
“This pre-emptive action underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives,” he said.
