The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Command, has reported the arrest of 26 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
According to a statement released by the EFCC, the arrests were made on Tuesday, February 13, as part of ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime in the region.
The suspects were apprehended in various areas of the Federal Capital Territory, including Kurudu, Jahi, Kubwa, and Gwarimpa, following credible intelligence linking them to internet-related offenses.
During the operation, law enforcement officers seized several items from the suspects, including a Toyota Tacoma, a CLS Mercedes 450, and three Lexus vehicles. Additionally, 40 mobile phones and seven laptops were confiscated as potential evidence.
The EFCC has stated that the suspects will face charges in court once investigations are concluded.
The arrest underscores the agency’s commitment to combating cybercrime and ensuring that perpetrators face the full consequences of their actions.
