Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, has stirred controversy after claiming that Davido’s loss at the Grammy Awards was not ordinary.

He said the outcome was part of pressure from powerful Western music executives who want the singer to submit to “demonic” demands.

According to him, the intention is to weaken Davido and force him to abandon his personal values.

Cubana Chief Priest made the claim while reacting to Davido’s failure to win the Best African Music Performance award at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Bellnews reports that the ceremony held on Sunday and saw South African singer Tyla emerge as the winner of the category.

Davido had been one of the strong contenders in the race.

In his message, Cubana Chief Priest said Davido was being targeted because of his influence and strength in the global music industry.

He insisted that the singer should not bow to pressure or compromise his beliefs.
He urged him to remain focused and continue making music for his fans.

Moreover, CP also encouraged Davido to move on from the disappointment quickly.

According to him, setbacks should not slow down a successful career.
He described the loss as temporary and said greater opportunities still lie ahead for the singer.

Cubana Chief Priest shared his views in a post on social media, where he openly accused unnamed Western figures of trying to manipulate Davido.

He praised the artist for standing firm and refusing to change his lifestyle or principles.
He added that Davido’s talent and consistency would keep him relevant despite award losses.

He wrote,
“Oyibo dey do everything possible to break a strong man so he can do their demonic sh*t with them but he will never do ot. Heads up brother, open the bag and drop another hot one for us. E no dey finish, gbedu na water.”

However, Davido is yet to respond publicly to the statement.
Many fans believe the Grammy loss will only push him to work harder.
