BREAKING: Top Nigerian football coach Daniel Evumena dies [PHOTOS]

The late tactician was Nigeria’s boss at the 2008 FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup in Chile. In the tournament, Nigeria reached the quarterfinals, losing out to France.

Apart from coaching a national side, Evumena was a former Head Coach of Nigeria Women’s Football League giants, Delta Queens.

This newspaper learned that Dan Evumena died after a battle with an undisclosed illness.

The late sportsman was also a government employee. In 2021, he retired from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Until his death, the deceased was the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association – Delta State Chapter.
