The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Nicholas Ukachukwu, was on Sunday embarrassed in Abuja after being confronted over an alleged ₦1 billion debt.

In a trending video obtained by Bellnews, Ukachukwu was seen in a heated exchange with individuals who accused him of owing the huge sum.

One of them was heard shouting: “You’re running for governor and you are owing people,” while urging Anambra voters to reject him at the polls.

In the video, the APC candidate was struggling to respond, as his security aides intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.

Ukachukwu, a businessman and politician, clinched the APC ticket in April after polling 1,455 votes to defeat Valentine Ozigbo, Johnbosco Onunkwo and Edozie Madu in the party’s governorship primary. The election is scheduled for November 8, 2025.
