BISHOP NDUBUISI OBI COUNTS BLESSINGS As Anglican Diocese Of Nnewi Clocks 30

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese Of Nnewi His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Ndubuisi Chukwuka Obi JP on Friday the 13th of February 2026, listed some giant strides the Diocese has made since inception.

He also used the opportunity to shower praises on his Predecessor Archbishop Godwin I. Okpala who he described as a very good man who has never interfered with his administration since he took over from him.

Analyzing the progress made so far, he pointed out that despite the fact that Amichi and Ihiala Dioceses have been granted autonomy, there are presently 25 Archdeaconries and 4 Deaconries in Nnewi Diocese, 78 Parishes and 173 Churches. He revealed that there are presently 246 Priests on ground 1 on Foreign Mission and 24 in the Diaspora while 1 is on Mission bringing the number to 273 as against 38 when the Diocese was inaugurated.

In terms of education, he posited that there are presently over 103 Primary and Secondary Schools, 1 seminary and 2 Covent.

His Lordship equally revealed that the Diocese has acquired quite a considerable mass of land and the educational, spiritual and academic life of the Diocese are growing in leaps and bounds.

He pointed at the College of Health Science, the Vocational And Technical Academy and the Diocesan Special Education Centre for the physically and mentally handicapped. He also talked about the Rehabilitation Centre For Drug Addicts and those having issues with their psychological orientation.

His Lordship also made it clear that the Diocese is deeply into Agriculture with farms at Ozubulu,Okija, Enugu and other locations. All in the bid to bring down the cost of foodstuffs in the market.

However what he considers as the major achievement of the Diocese is the establishment of their own Television Station called Alive Unto God TV. which airs on Free To Air Decoder 24 hours Daily except Saturday and reaches every part of Nigeria, parts of Africa, Asia and Europe and has been Broadcasting for over 6 years.

He said that his Live TV Ministration continues on Sunday wherever he is Ministering. He also talked about the Every Day Early Morning Prayer Program which many Television and Radio Stations in the South East have hooked up to for their own Opening Prayer Sessions.

During the Question and Answer Session, he threw more light on his interest in Rehabilitating the Addicts and Reforming those in the Correctional Centres(Prison), stating that Some Former Inmates have been transformed to the extent that a couple of them are now Clergies.

On establishing a Home For Old People, he said he has no such plans as it is against the African Culture where children are supposed to take care of their Aged Ones at Old Age. In the issue of The Pentecost University, he revealed that the University Project is still there, but it has to be put on hold because of the enormous responsibilities and expenses and that for now attention is on the Vocational And Technical Academy which is receiving a lot of boost and encouragement from Stakeholders especially Non Governmental Organizations who are partnering seriously.

On the matter of the Girl Child some of whom have gone into child prostitution, he said that the Women are trying their best as there’s no Sunday that they don’t go out to Brothels to preach to them and rehabilitate those that are willing to repent.

He used the opportunity to call on NGOs, Individuals, Corporate Bodies and the Government to offer their Right Hand of Fellowship.
