Zagazola Makama, a counter insurgency analyst in Lake-Chad has dismissed reports of the alleged arrest of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji by troops of Operation Fasan Yanma, stating that the claims are false and misleading.
Recall that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, on Friday disclosed that notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Turji, has declared that he is ready to surrender.
Following this, some reports have been circulating on social media claiming that the leader of the bandits, Bello Turji, has been arrested in Zamfara state.
However, a statement shared by Zagazola Makama on X on Tuesday, clarified that an audio recording circulating online, in which two individuals claimed that Turji had been captured, is entirely baseless.
“The purported audio recording, in which two individuals are heard claiming that Bello Turji has been captured, is misleading and lacks any credible basis. We urge the public to disregard such unfounded rumors,” the statement read.
The statement said that Bello Turji remains at large, emphasizing that security forces are intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend him.
