The Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, on Thursday reacted to the resignation of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Olayinka likened Atiku to the weapon fashioned against the PDP, stressing that his exit is good riddance to bad rubbish.

Atiku had dumped the PDP yesterday citing irreconcilable differences and the party’s departure from its founding principles.

However, featuring on Channels Television, Olayinka said: “Atiku leaving the PDP is good riddance to bad rubbish. Like the Hausa people will say “se go be.’

“What I would have loved to see is that the headlines reads ‘Atiku leaves PDP again.’

“He has been leaving and now that he chose to leave again, the party can now be looking to put itself together

“Like I have said severally, Atiku happens to be like the weapon fashioned against the PDP.”

Reacting to the resignation of veteran journalist, Dele Momodu from PDP, Olayinka dismissed claims that he is a political bigwig.

He said Momodu can’t be called a political bigwig because he could not get one vote when he contested for the presidency.

“How is Dele Momodu a bigwig in the PDP, somebody who joined the party in 2022, if you aspire to be president and don’t have a single vote, how are you now a bigwig?

“Can Dele Momodu win his polling unit? It’s today that he resigned that people now know he is from Edo State.

“He is a good publisher of photo book and I don’t subscribe to him being referred to as a chieftain or political bigwig.

“Me talking to you, I contested primary for House of Representatives and won, I had more than 10,000 votes can Dele Momodu do the same?.
