The Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, Major-General Kevin Aligbe, has issued a strong warning to candidates participating in the ongoing 2024 Lieutenant-to-Captain Practical Promotion Examination to refrain from engaging in examination malpractice.
Addressing the officers at the Maxwell Khobe Cantonment venue in Jos, Plateau State, Major-General Aligbe, acting through Lieutenant-Colonel Sani Uba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, emphasized the zero-tolerance policy of the army towards examination malpractice. He cautioned that any misconduct would result in severe consequences, potentially hindering their advancement within the Nigerian Army.
Major-General Aligbe, serving as the Examination President, underscored the importance of the examination as part of a series of professional military education programs aimed at enhancing the proficiency and leadership capabilities of the officers. He urged them to embody the core values of the army and stressed that the examination would evaluate their discipline and courage, crucial factors influencing their career progression.
Explaining that the examination aligns with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Taoreed Lagbaja, to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force, Major-General Aligbe assured the candidates of fairness and transparency in its conduct by the penslists and directing staff.
In his remarks, Major-General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven, urged the candidates to uphold decorum and discipline throughout the examination. He emphasized the significance of the examination in shaping their career progression and enhancing their understanding of various aspects of military operations, crucial for their performance in ongoing operations across the country.
“The outcome of this examination is pivotal for your career development,” he emphasized.
