The Anambra State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria led by their indefatigable Chairman, Bishop Dr Moses Ezedebego recently organized a 3 day program for the 3 Senatorial Districts tagged EVANGELISM and PRAYER CONFERENCE.
It kick-started at Awka the Anambra State capital on Tuesday the 21st of May 2024, moved to Onitsha the following day and rounded up in Nnewi Anambra South on Thursday the 23rd. That of Anambra South was very massive.
The event that was billed to start by 9:00am actually started on time with Pastor Joel Ezekiel of Full Salvation Bible Ministry Nnewi, leading the Opening Prayers. After the Praise and Worship, the first session of Prayers was led by His Lordship Bishop Dr Alphonsus Ubido of Authority and Power Church Uruagu Nnewi.
He took his prayer points from 1st Timothy 2:1–2 and Jeremiah 33:3. It was a very powerful session of prayers with heavy impact. The Chairman of the Planning Committee and Moderator,Dr. Joe Ugwumba did a very good job of coordinating the activities.
The Guest Speaker who is the National Vice President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria South East,Dr. Maxwell Korie spoke on Soul Winning and Evangelism. He began by saying that he didn’t intend to preach, but to have a heart to heart discussion with the congregation. He said God gave His biggest gift to mankind because of Soul Winning.
That God gave His son and His Spirit. The PFN Vice President said that the battle of life is for the Soul of man and that there is no other name for salvation except Jesus and that is the only one way to eternal life and that God did not put it in the hands of Angels, but in Jesus Christ.
He therefore pointed out that heaven is depending on the Believer to win Souls. He asked the congregants how many have won up to 3 Souls who were Sinners and are now saved and worshipping God from January to this very moment and only 5 people raised up their hands.
He revealed that every community has its own fair share of demons and that no community in the world is demon free, therefore, one must deal with the idols of the land. Bishop Korie pointed out that he has established a lifestyle of Prayers and admonished everyone to always pray against Satanic bewitchment.
He revealed that behind every palace is a witchcraft power who will not allow the great men of the land to be free. He revealed the secret of Church growth which he ascribed to holiness saying that as long as you refuse to purge yourself, you cannot be a vessel unto honour. In his words:””Whatever sin is keeping you down is a door way to bondage A holy life attracts a Holy God.
A sinful life attracts the devil and it’s up to you to stop that rubbish.”” Speaking with this Reporter at the end of the program, the host who is the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Nnewi Chapter and Coordinator of PFN Anambra South, Bishop Dr. Godwin Igwilo, thanked God for the success of the program.
He specifically praised the Chairman of the PFN in Anambra State, Bishop Moses Ezedebego for his visionary leadership, describing him as a very good leader worthy of emulation. He stated that the program is an Annual Event done in the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State and that it was the turn of Anambra South today.
He praised Bishop Moses Ezedebego for his wisdom in attracting the person of the National Vice President of PFN South East to the program. Bishop Igwilo pointed out that the program being a Prayer Conference; that they took out time to pray for the Country and her Leaders, so that Government can formulate good policies that will favour the masses.
They also prayed for the State and Local Government Areas. Bishop Igwilo re-emphasized the message of the National Vice President that the heart beat of God is Soul Winning and Evangelism and that Participants should all go back to their respective stations and carry out the divine mandate.
Also speaking to this Reporter, the Presiding Archbishop of Masterseed College of Bishops and Ministerial Network, His Royal Eminence Prof.EmmaDavid Okafoagu JP admonished everyone to heed the call for Evangelism and Prayers. He called on Pastors and Church Leaders to inculcate the doctrine of Soul Winning in their Church Curriculum so that at the end of the day they will be able to give a good account of themselves. The meeting ended with Participants being lavishly entertained with sumptuous meals.
