The Sun newspaper event held in Lagos witnessed a remarkable display of goodwill towards Anambra billionaire, Ken Ifekudu OFR, Chairman of Diamond Leeds Ltd, who was honored as the Businessman of the Year. Friends and well-wishers celebrated Ifekudu by flooding the pages of the Sun Newspaper with over 71 heartfelt goodwill messages, with more pouring in continuously since the event.

The overwhelming support demonstrated through these messages, which have been prominently featured in the newspaper since Friday, is estimated to have generated over 50 million naira in revenue for the publishers. This influx of goodwill messages, possibly the largest received by an award recipient in the history of the award show, underscores the immense respect and admiration that Chief Ifekudu commands within his circle.

Notably, these messages of goodwill come at a time when the country faces economic challenges, highlighting the depth of affection and esteem Chief Ifekudu enjoys from his friends and associates. Among the well-wishers are corporate organizations and influential personalities from various sectors.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Ifekudu expressed gratitude to God, his wife Chioma Ifekudu, and the staff of Diamond Leeds Ltd for their unwavering support and contributions to his success. He dedicated the award to them and pledged to continue making significant strides in the business landscape of the country.

The Sun Award event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, Publisher of Sun newspaper, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Industrialist Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Billionaire oil magnate Uju Ifejika, Chairman of United Nigeria Air Prof Obiora Okonkwo, and others.

Aside from his accomplishments in business, Ken Ifekudu is also known for his philanthropic endeavors. He recently commissioned various community projects in Ozubulu, Anambra State, including road infrastructure, lock-up shops, and financial empowerment programs for aspiring entrepreneurs. Last year, he was honored by the federal government with the national honor of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR). With a passion for education, Ken holds two master’s degrees and is currently pursuing a degree in law at a Nigerian university.
