Nollywood veteran cum politician, Kenneth Okonkwo, has demanded the immediate resignation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio from office.
Bellnews reports that Okonkwo, in a post via his 𝕏 account on Thursday, described Akpabio as an enemy of democracy.
Speaking against the backdrop of the controversy which has followed the position of the Senate on the clause for the mandatory transmission of election results electronically in Nigeria, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain alleged that the Senate President is clandestinely trying to make Bola Tinubu a life president to be succeeded by his wife or son after his demise.
He called on Nigerians to push for the removal of Akpabio from office.
“Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, should resign his position as the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria immediately or be removed from office for being an enemy of democracy. Akpabio, cunningly, removed the transmission of election results electronically without putting it to debate among the Senators who approved of it. His cup is full and all Nigerians must rise up and push for his resignation. If we don’t act now, this Senate may make Tinubu a life President to be succeeded by his wife or son after his demise,” Okonkwo wrote.
