The President of the Academic Staff union of universities, ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke says the threat by the Congress of Nigerian Academics, CONUA to seek legal redress over unpaid salaries is not only ‘laughable’, but a display of inconsistencies.
ASUU President told ait.live exclusively that the crop of lecturers in CONUA allowed themselves to be used by the government to disparage ASUU, making them to pretend over the demands of ASUU on reviving Tertiary education.
ASUU also stated that should the government continue to withhold its salaries, the strike is one of its options.
After being ordered to return to the classroom by the National Industrial court, ASUU ended its eight-month strike in October.
However, the government’s implementation of the “no work, no pay” policy has left students uncertain about whether ASUU will go on strike again.
You will recall that Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) went on strike for almost seven month.
