The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Wednesday, October 26, arrived in Borno State to preside over what the church termed mega rally in some cities of the state and was met at the airport by some pastors of the church.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye however decided to leave the Maiduguri Airport and headed straight to the Theatre Command office of the soldiers responsible for fighting the remnants of the insurgents, known as Boko Haram, where he spent some time with them and even held a prayer session.
The Theatre Command, known as Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), is the division of the Nigerian Army that is responsible for taking the battle to the enclaves of the insurgents and is headed by a Major General of who is popularly known as the Theatre Commander.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, accompanied by his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye, and other senior pastors of the church, arrived at the Theatre Command around 3:00 p.m. and was received by the Theatre Commander, Major General Christopher Musa, after which he led a short prayer session before departing.
Many of the soldiers who were said to be seeing Pastor Enoch Adeboye for the first time, hailed him during his arrival while he was said to have told them that he was at the Theatre Command not only to pray for them, but also to give them his moral support.
Before he left and after holding a short prayer session for them, both Adeboye and General Musa exchanged gifts after which the Theatre Commander saw him and Mrs Adeboye off to their cars accompanied by cheers from some of the soldiers around.
The event was announced by the Public Relations Unit of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and below is the screenshot of the statement on its Facebook wall:
