The Nigerian students, under the aegis of Tinubu/ Shetima Students Vanguard (TSSV), has expressed commitment to work for the victory of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, in the 2023 elections.
According to the reports, the students said their support for Tinubu was based on the fact the APC Presidential candidate has the required qualities to lead the country.
The group’s Coordinator and immediate past National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Comr. Sunday Asefon made the declaration at a briefing in Ado- Ekiti , the Ekiti State capital.
Asefon explained that they decided to support Tinubu after careful evaluation of all the candidates.
He said there are strong indications that the APC candidate would run a student-friendly government, saying his exploits in all sectors of governance, particularly, the education sector when he was at the helm of affairs in Lagos State remained verifiable testimonies of hisyleadership capacity.
The former NANS president added that the group considered Tinubu’s intellectual prowess, pedigree, administrative acumen, competence and experience as very crucial to taking the country to higher pedestal.
He noted that Tinubu’s presidency would be a great blessing to the entirety of Nigeria as he possesses the leadership qualities needed to transform Nigeria, looking at how he changes the fortunes of Lagos State for the better.
Asefon added that if given the opportunity, the APC candidate will do the same with Nigeria as he was well prepared to birth a new Nigeria many of dreamt of within the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has vowed to develop and upgrade the blueprint of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Lagos state governor made this promise on Tuesday, October 18 at the presidential villa in Abuja during the 3rd Ministerial Performance Review Retreat.
He lauded President Buhari for his accomplishment despite the torrid incidents and events laced around his administration.
Tinubu said his administration if elected will continue the good works of President Buhari and keep his legacies going for years to come.
Jagaban as he is fondly called also promised to foster national unity and broker a lasting peace for the future of Nigeria.
He said:“If elected, I will give due honour to your efforts and your legacy. I will work in the spirit of cordial unity, and national purpose that informed the creation of our party and characterized the work of your government.”
While reeling out his commitment, he also promised that his administration will be focused on developmental projects that will benefit Nigeria and its citizens.
