Peter Obi recently paid a condolence visit to Governor Rotimi Akeredulo of Ondo State over the demise of his mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredulo.
The Labour Party presidential candidate equally used the occasion to commiserate with the Governor over the sad incident which occurred at St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo.
Recall that on June 5, about 50 worshippers at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo were reportedly massacred by terrorists who invaded the Church during a morning mass.
Peter Obi during his visit told Governor Akerelodu that he wanted to pay him a condolence visit when the Owo massacre happened but later changed his mind for security reasons.
About 2:05 minutes into a video shared on YouTube by Symfoni TV, Peter Obi said “Let me use the opportunity because I couldn’t come during the Owo incident just to condole you on that sad incident, I tried to come but the security people gave excuses why I should not come and I said okay, let me not bother. So I condole you also for that”
Peter Obi also described Governor Akeredulo as a leader who always speaks the truth to power and urged him to continue to take every necessary step to protect his people as the chief security officer of the state.
