The candidate for vice president of the Democratic Party, Ifeanyi Okowa, complained about Peter Obi’s appearance.
According to him, the emergence of obi will affect the prospects for the PDP in the southeastern region. Meanwhile, he insisted that the problems surrounding his appearance would be resolved quickly and amicably.
Ahead of the 2023 general election, Delta State Governor and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vice Presidential candidate Ifene Okoa said that the appearance of Peter Obi on the Labor Platform was bad for the PDP.
Okowa, who said this while speaking with newsmen in Kano on the sidelines of an event to welcome the former governor of the state, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, who has returned to the party, said the South East has traditionally been a stronghold of the PDP, Bellnewsonline reports.
“In the south-east, it will obviously be a problem for us because of the new sentiment. But I know that PDP has a stronghold in the South East. And I know that the competition in the southeast between PDP and LP is clear. We hope he will not be in the race, but since he is in the race, it will become a real contest between the two parties (PDP and LP, not APC) in the South East. ”
He further said that the controversy that followed his emergence as the vice chairmanship candidate of the party will soon become a thing of the past as continuous efforts have been made to resolve all issues.
He added
“Secondly, I am in contact with all my South-South colleagues. As a member and family, we are all in touch with Governor Wake. And our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is leading this process because he is the leader. I think sooner rather than later we will be able to solve the problem.
Okowa condemns Shettima’s comment on dealing with uncertainty. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said it would be “absurd” for the Vice President to be in charge of the country’s security.
The Governor of the Delta emphasized that it will be the exclusive responsibility of the President, as Commander-in-Chief, to preside over the Security Council.
Refuting Okowa’s position, Keyamo said on his Twitter page that any responsibility could be assigned to the Vice President and it would not make sense for any Vice President to handle the country’s security.
