Dr. Bashir Kurfi, a community leader revealed that some villages in Katsina, are currently under the high infringement of Bandits. In an interview with BBC Hausa, Dr. Kurfi disclose how some households are being compelled by Bandits to release their wives, daughters, and sisters to sleep with them.
In a report by the Bellnewsonline, Dr. Kurfi lamented how these victims are being abandoned by the government. He claimed that they have been left with no provision to ameliorate their trauma with the Bandits.
He said, ”In so many villages the Bandits also call households and ask them to send them their wives, daughters or sisters to sleep with them. Apart from the Incessant attacks and killings of innocent people, they also rape women. I know of a woman who was gang raped by over 40 Bandits.
So many schools closed because Banditry has now become home to Bandits, and in some other villages people are already living together with the Bandits at their homes.”
Talking about transportation from Katsina to other states, Dr. Kurfi explained that transportation has not been the same since the invasion of Bandits.
