Bellnews Online reports The President of The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has stated that issues with the University Transparency and Accountability Solution, UTAS, and the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS) have been resolved.
He stated that this was one of the major issues that prompted the academic union’s strike, and that now that it has been resolved, there is hope that the strike will be called off.
He also stated that the Union would be meeting with the government today and that he hopes the lecturers will return to their classrooms.
He did, however, express dissatisfaction with how the government handled the strike. He said all of this in an interview with Channels Television on Monday evening.

“The issues of IPPIS and UTAS have been put to rest as agreed with the Chief of Staff, the Utas will be implemented.
You see, if this government is serious, this strike will not last more than two weeks.
The President directed the Minister of Education to finish within two weeks, now two weeks have passed and they didn’t come back.”
