The Chairman of Gida-Gida TikTokers, Fatima Naseer Teemahcool, who championed a recent display of underwears during a recent visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to Kano State, has been given a political appointment.

Bellnews understands that she was appointed by the Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government in Kano, Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye, as the officer in charge of women affairs.

The letter of appointment, according to Daily Trust, was signed by the local government’s secretary, Ado Mohammed Hotoro.

The letter stated that the decision was based on Teema Cool’s contributions and commitment to the growth of the local government.

She has been directed to carry out her duties in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the council’s operations.

Teema Cool, who is said to be a known face in Kano politics, gained nationwide attention last week for leading the controversial display of underwear mocking a former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

She has, however, since apologised and promised never to repeat it after a series of condemnations within and outside the state.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has denied any link with the controversial display of red underwear by a group of young women during a rally held in honour of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu.

The Kano State Governor insisted that he wasn’t aware of such activity, nor did he give approval for it.

He also condemned the public display of underwear, which featured during the programme, noting that it goes against the cultural and religious values of the people of the state.
