The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Councillorship aspirant, Hon. Emeka Emmanuel Ezeunyim has categorically stated it is the turn of Umuona village in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area to produce the next Councillor in the ward.

While speaking to our correspondent on Thursday, January 29, 2026 in his country home at Umuona, Nnobi he said other villages like Amadunu and Ifite have been represented at the council at different times, insisting it is the turn of Umuona, his own village to be represented at the council.

He lamented that Umuona has been marginalized in council representation both in Transition Councillorship and Elective Councillorship.

Emmy Young argued that Hon. Francis O. Nwankwo went to council under the UNCP during the Military regime in 1996 before democracy started in 1999, which according to him has been in existence till date.

“Since 1999 Constitution which ushered in a democratic system in Nigeria, Umuona and Eziora have not been represented. It must be noted that Umuona which is senior to Eziora should go first before Eziora.

“Therefore, it is the turn of Umuona to go first before Eziora. In Nnobi Ward 1, we have ‘Ebenesi’, not ‘Ebenasa’, Amadunu has taken its turn, Ifite, which Eziora is part of has also taken its turn, it is left for Umuona to take its own turn, and it is wrong for anybody to deny Umuona of this opportunity ” he explained.

Speaking on Party loyalty, Hon. Emeka revealed that Eziora believe so much in APC not APGA, emphasising if they must contest this time, they should get their nomination form from the APC not APGA, adding that APGA rewards success and loyalty not failure and deviance.

Hon. Emeka, having served as Executive Assistant to Ex-Governor Willie Obiuno, APGA Youth leader in Nnobi Ward 1 and currently Special Assistant (Media) to Idemili South Mayor, Hon. Amaka Obi said he is ready develop his ward through his unique representation.

Emmy Young stressed he stepped out to give his people proper representation they need in matters that would positively affect their community development.

“To eradicate poverty, I promise to embark on programmes that will empower our people with skills and wealth creation. My community must enjoy dividends of democracy under my watch” he declared.
