Some Nigerians on social media have mocked Senator representing the Delta North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, Ned Nwoko, after explaining the reasons for arresting his estranged wife, Regina Daniels’ best friend, Ann.
Bellnews reports that Nwoko, in a statement issued through his communication team, said there are misleading narratives regarding Ann’s arrest, which he described as false and intended to distort the facts.
Nwoko clarified that Ann was arrested in connection with public defamatory statements alleging that he (Senator) physically assaulted Regina Daniels, which led to a miscarriage.
The politician said Ann was also implicated in an illegal abortion for Regina Daniels during his lawful marriage to her.
He also accused Ann of making social media derogatory and defamatory remarks against his wife, Liala Charani, which constituted intimidation, provocation and criminal defamation.
However, the statement generated buzz online, with some netizens expressing displeasure over Ned Nwoko’s public displays and constant press releases since the separation from Regina.
