Igwe Nnewi Centenary Ofala and 62 years on the throne kicks off today

The annual Igwe Nnewi Ofala festival tagged ‘centenary Ofala’ this year is significant because HRH Igwe Dr KON Orizu III celebrates his 100-year birthday and 62 years on the throne of his forebears.

The palace wears a new look because of extensive renovations and construction of new structures. These were done with out affecting the standing of the palace as a classic monarchy.

Dr Cletus Ibeto donated a magnificent hall, while Prince Osinachi Orizu donated a never-have-seen imposing gate constructed by Solid Base construction company.

The Crown Prince constructed ultra modern Banquet hall, in addition to managing the entire project to ensure completion before today’s event.

The Ofala gala night was heralded by unprecedented display of performances for the teeming crowd by various ‘A list’ entertainers.

Today’s event will be kicked off by interdenominational service and cutting of the cake by HRH Igwe KON Orizu III.

Thereafter, HRH will confer titles to the deserving individuals. There will be several cultural events lined up for the day. The second day will, as usual, feature the masquerades entertainment as the main attraction.
