Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, says he has received an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Malami confirmed the development in a statement posted on Thursday on his social media page.
He said he remains committed to cooperating with investigators and upholding principles of transparency in public service.
His words: “This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.”
He said accountability is a core value he has always advocated.
“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold,” he added.
Malami served as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
