Outspoken Plateau State clergyman, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has rained curses on those he believes were responsible for deleting his Facebook account, which had amassed more than 500,000 followers.
The fiery preacher announced over the weekend that his Facebook page had been taken down shortly after he raised concerns about receiving warnings and threats from individuals he claimed were loyalists of President Bola Tinubu.
Dachomo has been vocal in accusing the government of turning a blind eye to what he describes as “Christian genocide” in Plateau State.
Following the deletion of his page, the clergyman revealed he had moved to Instagram after an American podcaster, Ryan Miller, assisted him in opening a new account on Saturday.
The account reportedly gathered over 4,500 followers within 24 hours.
In the wake of his deleted page, several fake accounts sprang up on Facebook using variations of his name, such as “Pastor Ezekiel Dachomo,” “The Real Dachomo,” and “Ezekiel Dachimo.” Some also used his photos and those of his family members to appear legitimate.
On Monday morning, Rev. Dachomo publicly disowned the accounts, warning Nigerians that impersonators had created more than ten fake profiles to deceive his followers.
He urged the public to disregard such pages and remain vigilant against online fraud.
In a video shared by journalist Masara Kim Usman, Rev. Dachomo said, “I am not on Facebook. Nobody should communicate with anyone who created an account in my name. I am now on Instagram.
“It has just come to my notice that over 10 Facebook accounts have been opened in my name, either using my family pictures or different styles of my pictures. Let me tell you, these are scammers.
“They know that my Facebook account has been closed. I don’t have a Facebook account again. Facebook has told us they are working on it, and we have done everything that we need to do to restore the Facebook account.
“And let me tell you, the scheming in Nigeria, 419 is working very strongly, fraudulent people, even some Yahoo Boys can go to any length to scam people, or even some people who have an interest in killing the issue of genocide, that there is no genocide of Christians in Nigeria.
“They can even pay 50, 100, or even 1,000 people to report my Facebook account. I know that Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria can go to any extent to any length, even paying the media to make sure that my Facebook account is locked, because they know Trump is coming and they will see hell when Trump comes.
“So they will do whatever it takes to lock me down. But heaven will lock you down. When heaven locks you down, there is no hole, there is no mountain, there is no creek that you will enter; you will be hunted down by angels that are hunters. For that, I’m begging you, close those accounts.”
However, a few hours later, Usman made another shocking disclosure that the new Instagram account had also been closed.
He said, “Again, Rev. Dachomo’s new Instagram page, boasting over 4,500 followers within 24 hours of creation by American podcaster, Ryan Miller, has been shut down. Real terrorists on rampage! But we’ll get you, I promise.”
