Police operatives fired tear gas at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat to disperse a crowd of supporters gathered at Wadata Plaza, as tensions over control of the party escalated.
The incident occurred when the Senator Anyanwu-led faction attempted to block Governors Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) from entering the Secretariat.
Anyanwu’s supporters, who currently control access to the venue, reportedly described the governors as impostors and insisted they should not be allowed into the National Executive Committee (NEC) / Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting.
