Reuben Abati’s Wife Opens Up On Failed Relationships, Lessons Learned

Media personality Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, wife of veteran journalist and broadcaster Reuben Abati, has opened up on her past failed relationships and business partnership.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, reflected how challenges in relationships, business and friendships influenced her personal growth.

She added that she no longer overlooks behaviours she once ignored, adding that she now ask questions.

She wrote, “Over the years, through two failed relationships, business partnerships, and even friendships that drained me, I realised that the issue wasn’t always them. Sometimes, it was me, refusing to acknowledge that my tolerance had expired.

“The woman I was in 2010 could overlook certain behaviours, but the woman I am in 2025? She asks hard questions. She faces you hard on. She doesn’t sweep things under the rug anymore.”

She encouraged others to embrace change, writing, “We must learn to tell people, ‘I’m not the same person anymore.’ Because when you grow, your boundaries, your peace and your sense of self all shift too.”

Kikelomo Atanda-Owo, who hosts a live talk show, Real Talk with Kike, is known for conversations on politics, social issues and personal growth.

She also runs Z-Edge Consulting, a leadership and capacity development firm.

A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, she married Abati, a former presidential spokesman, in 2020.
