The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by CP Dantawaye Miller as its 34th Commissioner of Police.

Miller officially took over leadership of the Command on Friday, October 17, 2025, succeeding CP Ajao Adewale, who has been redeployed to a new strategic assignment by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the new commissioner pledged to strengthen existing security frameworks and deepen collaboration between the police and local communities across the territory.

“As he assumes duty as the 34th Commissioner of Police, CP Miller has pledged to build on existing security structures, enhance community-police partnerships, and ensure the safety and security of all residents within the Federal Capital Territory,” the statement read.

Adeh described Miller as a seasoned law enforcement officer with over two decades of distinguished service in various operational and leadership roles nationwide.

Before his redeployment to Abuja, he was the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command.

In recent months, the territory has faced a rise in security challenges despite ongoing efforts by the police.

Expectations are high that CP Miller will introduce fresh strategies and decisive leadership to enhance public safety and restore confidence across the capital.
