Shehu Sadiq presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, seem to have changed the narrative about Nigeria’s politics, as he has become on the lips of many Nigerians, particularly the youths, since he announced his ambition to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Despite the fact that Peter Obi’s bandwagon is increasing rapidly, some political analysts have questioned Peter Obi’s political pedigree on a national level and also questioned the possibility of the Labour Party (LP) posing a threat to the two major political parties- the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 presidential election.
However, a Nigerian entrepreneur, Shehu Gazali Sadiq, has refused to back down on his support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, no matter what comes in the way. In a post via his Twitter handle on Friday, 15th of July, 2022, Shehu Gazali Sadiq claimed that money, lies, propaganda, ethnicity or religion, will not separate Peter Obi’s supporters from him.
In Shehu Gazali Sadiq’s words “Nothing will separate us from Peter Obi. Not the dollars, the thugs, the lies, the propaganda, ethnicity and religion. We remain Obidient till we put Obi in Aso Rock”.
In an exclusive interview with Arise TV on the 6th of July, 2022, Peter Obi urged all Nigerians to put all regional, religious and personal sentiments aside and elect him as the country’s next President, because of competence and economic dexterity.
Peter Obi’s plea came after some political elites, like the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, claimed that the Northerners would find it difficult to queue behind a presidential candidate of South-East extraction in the 2023 presidential election.
