Tinubu made his concerns known while speaking in Brazil on Monday, as Nigeria and the South American nation signed a bilateral agreement.

The agreement is aimed at further strengthening ties between the two nations, the president said.

He also mentioned that over the years, Nigeria has allowed its challenges to take a better part of it.

According to Tinubu, these challenges have also prevented the nation from making significant progress at the global stage.

“We tried to see why we are not at the level we wanted. We have allowed some problems and activities in the past to deter us from making progress and fulfilling our promises. But today we say that is the end of that,” Tinubu noted.Japan trip

However, stating that the time has come for Nigeria to embrace change and speed up its development pace, Tinubu said his administration is working towards bringing the nation’s sovereignty to an expected level.

“Today, we are fighting and working hard to bring our sovereignty to the level of expectation that we as a nation, the most populous, the most dynamic country, Nigeria, share with Brazil.

“We need to share technology transfer, energy, and economy so that Brazil can continue to widen the opportunities for us to embrace Africa. Africa is the new frontier,” Tinubu added.
