MURIC has warned CAN to beware of Tinubu over the consistent dragging of Tinubu because of his Muslim VP running mate.
Controversy has trailed the choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket imbibed by the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Recall that the former governor of Lagos state had earlier announced Kashim Shettima, a former governor of Borno state, as his running mate in the forthcoming election, which didn’t go well with some Nigerians, especially the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
However, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has criticized CAN over its position on Tinubu’s choice of a running mate.
In a statement by the group’s director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, he said that CAN is only hungry for power and would never be satisfied with a Muslim as the president of the country.
He went further to say that CAN’s aim is to milk the Christian Vice Presidential candidate if his party wins and later lay claim that they fought for his emergence.
He noted that there is nowhere in the constitution that stops a candidate from choosing a running mate from his own religion.
Muric also warned CAN to leave Tinubu alone and urged Nigerians not to be deceived by CAN’s spiritual banditry.
