The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has condemned the sealing of its Headquarters at the Wadata Plaza in Zone 5 Wuse, Abuja.

Bode George, a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, described the sealing of the party’s secretariat by Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) as sacrilegious and unacceptable

Speaking on Arise Television on Tuesday, George said the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike went too far with the sealing of the party’s office.

“In regard to the locking up of our party, it is absolutely sacrilegious, unacceptable and culturally inadmissible.

“One, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory Wike, my political son, this is the party that brought you to life,” George said.

Also admitting the party owed the FCTA a ground rent of N7 million, George said the amount under contention could have been easily paid by Wike who is also a member of the PDP.

“It’s like going back to your village and you have your family house, they haven’t paid some ground rent and you’re chairman of the local government. The next you do… how much were we owing? N7 million, which you could pay,” he added.

Further listing everything that PDP has done for the minister, George said Wike became a Local Government Chairman, a chief of staff to a governor, a minister of state, and a governor for eight years under the platform of the party.

He further challenged Wike to take the same route by reviewing the status of the ground rent payment on the property used by the ruling All Progressives Congress.
