The commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs in Kaduna State, Mamman Lagos has disputed claims by Nasir El-Rufai that he could determine the turnout of 2027 election.

Lagos, a strong ally of the incumbent governor of Kaduna, Uba Sani said El-Rufai has no special powers to decide on 2027 elections.

According to Lagos, the outcome of the 2027 polls can only be decided by God and not man.

He further issued a warning to the former governor of the state to steer clear of activities of governance in Kaduna State.

He stated that El-Rufai has no need to interfere in governance activities in the state because while he served as the head of the Bureau for Public Enterprise (BPE), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ministry and Kaduna State governor, nobody disrupted his service.

“We must set the record straight by reminding all who care to listen that our good and amiable governor (Sani) had never at any time interfere with the running of the state in the previous administration.

“He concentrated on initiating and passing Bills in collaboration with fellow lawmakers at the Senate and his constituents to make life better for the people.

“We see no reason he should at this time be distracted by someone who feels he has the monopoly to either make or mar individuals,” Lagos said.
