The Edo State Government has announced the immediate closure of all satellite campuses of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, directing that all academic programmes must now be conducted exclusively at the university’s main campus in Ekpoma.

The decision, according to the state government, is part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education in the institution and ensure better oversight of academic activities.

In a statement dated February 11, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Ikhilor, the government said that the closure is in line with Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to raising the standard of education at the university.

The statement further noted that the administration has made significant investments in the institution and that concentrating all academic activities at the main campus would enhance learning conditions and institutional efficiency.
