Nigeria’s power grid has collapsed again, with the country currently generating only 0.80 megawatts of electricity.
According to the website of the Independent System Operator, which is an autonomous arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), it was observed that the power plants’ contribution to the grid started to decrease around 2pm, dropping to 2,797.16MW from the average of 3,417.99MW around 1pm.
The electricity contribution further declined to 1,020.08 around 3pm before dramatically falling to 0.80 by 4pm.
Bellnews reports that the Trans-Amadi Power Plant generated 0.80. This marks the fourth power grid collapse in 2024.
