Youth group under the aegis of Solution Youth Preneurship Support Group – SYPSG, has paid a courtesy call to Hon. Augustine Ike, the House of Assembly member representing Nnewi North Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly and the Chairman of House Committee on Youth and Sports Development. This group includes beneficiaries of the Anambra State Government’s “1Youth, 2 Skills” initiative of the current administration.

Speaking during the visit, Prince Chinedu Ofojebe, the coordinator of the group, said that after they were trained and empowered by the government, they felt the need to show some level of reciprocity by coming together to form a political support group that will champion Governor Soludo’s second term bid.

On the purpose of the visit, Mr. Ofojebe said that they had come to appeal for the support of Hon. Ike in their drive for Soludo’s return in 2025.

“We would like to always interact with you. We would also be honoured to have you invite us to your programmes,” Ofejebe added.

Reacting to the visit and its purpose, Hon. Augustine charged the youths to be steadfast and not joke with their stake in the polity.

He also said that he is open to such partnerships as requested by the visiting group. “Let’s keep politics aside; let’s talk as young people. It’s our time! Youths have a stake in the polity. Youths must stand up to be counted. There is a need for us to have the consciousness that we are stakeholders in the system,” Hon. Ike said.

Addressing the group’s request, Hon. Augustine Ike said that the Commissioner for Youth is working hard and supporting their mission.

“On your visit, first of all, the Youth Commissioner is doing a good job. He is a square peg in a square hole. Then, on your stated mission, you said that you would do your best to see that the governor returns. It’s a law of reciprocity. It’s a good idea and we will support that. For me, it’s not about party anymore. Thank you all and keep doing what you are doing”, Hon. Ike said.

Mr. Ofojebe, the group’s coordinator, and Patrick Egwuatu, the Liaison Officer of the group, thanked Hon. Augustine Ike for the warm reception, despite the short notice of their visitation.

During the visit were select members of the group, including some LGA coordinators and co-coordinators of the group.
