In a recent operation, troops belonging to the Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarain Daji, successfully rescued 20 kidnapped victims and neutralized two terrorists, including a notorious leader, in Zamfara State. The information was conveyed through a statement by Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarain Daji.
The bandits’ kingpin, identified as Sule, met his demise during a confrontation with the troops, forcing his gang members to flee their hideouts. The operation took place during the continuous clearance mission on January 29, 2024, targeting terrorists’ strongholds in Rukudawa, Dumburum forest, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas.
According to Captain Ibrahim, the troops eliminated two terrorists, including Sainaje, a terrorists’ leader from Katsina State. This action led to the successful rescue of 18 kidnapped victims, comprising four males, 14 females, and children.
Additionally, Operation Hadarin Daji forces rescued two more victims who had been captured by terrorists while traveling along Shinkafi Isa road in Zamfara State. The timely intervention of the highly motivated troops during a gun duel resulted in the liberation of these victims.
All rescued individuals have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for reunification with their families. Major General Godwin Mutkut, the Commander of Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarain Daji, expressed continuous commendation for the troops’ dedication, resilience, and effectiveness in confronting and pursuing terrorists.
