The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) would like to update our valued customers regarding the current state of power supply within our network, which has experienced a reduction in availability. This decline is attributed to the challenges faced by thermal generating companies in power generation due to constraints in gas supply.
The limited power generation has led to a decrease in the daily megawatt hour (MWH) of energy allocated to distribution companies nationwide. Consequently, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), our primary power source, is constrained, resorting to System Load-shedding to prevent potential system collapse.
This situation has, unfortunately, impacted the quality of service we can provide to our customers, as we are dealing with a significantly reduced energy allocation from TCN. As a result, we have implemented load-shedding measures to ensure the equitable distribution of the available power.
We kindly request the understanding of our esteemed customers, as we can only distribute what is allocated to us. It is crucial to note that this challenge is not unique to EEDC but affects distribution companies across the board. We remain optimistic that a resolution to this situation will be achieved promptly, allowing for the restoration of normal distribution.
EEDC remains committed to delivering improved services to our esteemed customers.
