In a successful operation, the police raided a criminals’ hideout located at Centenary City in Enugu on Friday, resulting in the arrest of three armed suspects. Although some members of the gang managed to escape before apprehension, the police swiftly took action.
According to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the police spokesman in Enugu State, the raid led to the recovery of eight pump-action guns, along with four live and 26 expended cartridges at the scene. Additionally, law enforcement confiscated one machete, four units of solar-powered CCTV cameras, 13 GSM phones, one DVD player, as well as four bags, clothes, and items suspected to be charms from the hideout.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the criminals had been utilizing the hideout for planning and executing various crimes, including armed robbery and kidnapping. The arrested suspects will face legal proceedings once investigations are concluded, as mentioned by Ndukwe.
