Blessing Agbomhere, the South-South Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially announced his intention to run for the governorship of Edo state. The gubernatorial election in the state is scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission for September 21, 2024.
Agbomhere, a prominent figure within the APC, has outlined his mission to address the pressing issues of poverty and unemployment in the state. The declaration took place in Fugar, Ward 1, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
In a statement released by the Agbomhere Campaign Office, the APC chieftain expressed his commitment to uplifting the citizens of Edo and propelling the state to unprecedented levels of prosperity. He emphasized that his decision to enter the gubernatorial race is fueled by a genuine desire to serve the people and lead the state toward economic growth.
Agbomhere highlighted his diverse background, which includes experience in academics, media, strategic leadership, and international connections. He pledged to leverage this wealth of experience to bring about positive change, focusing on job creation as a key strategy to combat poverty. He emphasized the importance of attracting foreign direct investment to Edo State to achieve sustainable economic development.
The statement quoted Agbomhere as saying, “I am committed to eliminating poverty through job creation and will use my experience and connections to attract foreign direct investment to Edo State. We need a reset in Edo State, and I am ready to contribute to that transformation.”
