The Winner of the 2023 SweetHome Africa Award for Bold and Skillful Journalist of the Year, Don Peter Okoro, has dedicated his Award to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Dr. Mrs. Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The skillful and bold Journalist made this clear shortly after his Award was presented to him by the Chief Medical Director of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State,Prof. Joseph Ugboaja at the prestigious NICON LUXURY HOTELS ABUJA (FCT).

Appreciating the Award, Don Peter Okoro said:”I really want to express my profound gratitude to all the people that made this Award possible.

When I was in my little corner in Nnewi writing and doing what I know how to do best,I didn’t know that the world was taking notes of what I was doing. I promise that I’ll continue to be bold, skillful, fearless and fair in my Journalism career.

However, I want to specially dedicate this Award to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Her Excellency Senator Dr. Mrs. Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I cherish her a lot. She is my Role Model and I want her to adopt me.

The reason I am dedicating this Award to her is because of her steadfastness as a Born Again Christian. Despite the difference in religion with her husband, she has refused to compromise on her faith and is successfully holding her family together in the bond of unity, peace and love.

What a wonderful religious tolerant family? It takes wisdom and understanding to do this. She is the Esther of our time. Not only is she a Born Again Christian, but indeed a Pastor of the highly esteemed Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

This is not something to be taken for granted. I’m calling on all Christians in Nigeria to rally round her. She is a huge asset to the Body of Christ.” Don Peter Okoro who hails from Igun Town in Ethiope East LGA of Delta State, lives in Nnewi, Anambra State, where he is happily married from, he called on young people to shun violence, immorality, cultism, drugs, and other antisocial and life threatening behaviors and habits and embrace the life saving grace and Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking on his pet project named: XTIANS GOT TALENTS, he said: ” Yes I have a pet project called: XTIANS GOT TALENTS presently loading. As soon as I get back to Nnewi, we’ll kickstart the process. I already have some partners, but I’m still looking for more. Groups and Companies like Primenews Online Media Network, Umunwanyi Igbo Amaka Worldwide, Voices of Widows and Needies, Hero and Stars, Miles and Extra Miles International Christian Magazines based in Toronto, Canada, Vintage Newspapers, SweetHome Africa Foundation, some Christian Organizations and a good number of States Government and Non Governmental Organizations, which would be unveiled in due course, are all on board.

It is going to be a quarterly Television and Online Reality Television Show that would be beamed Live across all TV Stations, Networks and Social Media Platforms across the world, not just in Africa.

The Housemates would be camped for up to 30 Days and would be expected to Showcase their Xtian Talents, Gifts and Potentials in a most decent, meaningful and productive manner.

It will be an alternative to some Reality TV Programs that are presently celebrating nudity and immorality.” Quoting from the scriptures, he said:”

The earnest expectations of the creature awaits for the manifestations of the sons of God. We as Christians are the light of the world and a city that is lighted cannot be hidden.

So, we must shine, so that our light can be seen, so that men and women can glorify our Father who is in heaven. The time has come for the children of God to shine in Nigeria and that is what we are out to do. If you want to partner with us, you can easily chat me on Whatsapp with 0803 138 6142. I strongly believe that Nigeria will rise and shine again.”
