Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken the oath of office to officially assume the role of President of Nigeria.
Bellnewsonline.com reports that the solemn ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kayode Ariowola.
He said: “I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, do solemnly swear that I will not allow my personal interests to influence my official conduct or decisions… So help me, God.
President Tinubu secured the highest number of votes to emerge victorious in the recent presidential election, surpassing notable contenders such as Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
However, it is worth noting that Atiku and Obi have chosen to challenge Tinubu’s triumph by contesting the results at the Presidential Election Tribunal.
