Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday said the only way to resolve the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “inclusivity”.
Speaking in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, monitored by Bellnewsonline.com, Makinde stated that the ‘G5’ group which he belongs to, wish the PDP “good luck”, if the party feels it can win without them.
Other members of the G5 led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State include Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; Benue State, Samuel Ortom and Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Makinde blamed the crisis between the G5 and the PDP National leadership on the failure of the party’s leaders to resolve the internal issues within the party immediately after its convention in May 2022.
“We stand for certain principles which must engender unity for this country. From here, if our party decides that it will play lip service to inclusivity, then I wish them good luck.
“Nigerians in the final analysis would decide,” Makinde said.
