The immediate past Director of the Civil Society directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Najatu Mohammed, who recently dumped the ruling party and consequently resigned as director of the council, has endorsed Atiku Abubakar, presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Bellnewsonline.com had reported that Muhammad, a former lead campaigner of Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the APC, said the challenges Nigeria faces require her to continue championing the struggle for a better country with a clear conscience, thus, her withdrawal from the APC campaign.
However, the Kano politician on Sunday said she decided to stop supporting Tinubu because he “hardly thinks straight.”
“Yes, I am no longer supporting him (Tinubu); that is why I left the party. A lot has changed. He can hardly think straight. I am very sure of that. You can see his clips.
“I have transcended religious, tribal or regional sentiments, so I can’t afford to look at things with that narrow premise.
“I think it is not only irresponsible, it is criminal because we have succeeded in dividing this country for selfish reasons. We can’t continue like that. We need to move our country forward. That is my reason. I have nothing personal against anyone,” she told the press.
Bellnewsonline.com quotes Muhammad as saying that she has endorsed Atiku in respect of the forthcoming 2023 election. She also visited the former vice-president at his residence on Sunday.
