Victor Osimhen, who made the move to Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, revealed that the influential figures of Didier Drogba, Peter Etebo, and Henry Onyekuru played a significant role in his decision-making process.
Having garnered interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli, Osimhen ultimately chose Galatasaray, where he has made an immediate impact.
Osimhen has quickly endeared himself to the Galatasaray faithful by scoring two goals and providing three assists since his arrival.
In a recent interview with the club’s YouTube channel via NTVSpor, Osimhen expressed his admiration for players he had idolized since childhood, singling out Drogba as a significant influence.
Reflecting on the positive experiences of Onyekuru and Etebo at Galatasaray, Osimhen emphasized the welcoming atmosphere at the Turkish side.
The 25-year-old striker said: “To be honest, there were a lot of players I idolized and followed since I was little.
“Drogba is one of them. Onyekuru and Etebo played here [Galatasaray] before; I knew the atmosphere was good; I saw it.
“I looked online but what I saw in reality was much more magnificent, what I saw here was great.”
